Test and Innovation Environment for Medical Technology

Bridging medtech innovations and healthcare

About the project

The project aims to significantly strengthen companies’ research and innovation capacity by creating a more structured and integrated test environment for medical technology companies in Skåne.

Purpose

Through this initiative, researchers and startups will gain access to a coordinated test and innovation environment, including clinical expertise, regulatory support, and opportunities for real-life validation in collaboration with hospitals and care organisations. The project will support the development, testing and implementation of medtech products directly within the healthcare system, reducing time to market and increasing patient benefit.

Short description

The project aims to:

  • Establish a clear entry point to relevant test environments and clinical expertise, supported by a defined work process, guidance, and a network for test management.
  • Develop clear agreements and processes, ensuring structured collaborations and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Lay the foundation for a well-functioning innovation ecosystem.

By the end of the project, there will be a clearly defined pathway for conducting tests within healthcare, and a structured process for how companies can test prototypes of new products or services together with all clinical operations within Region Skåne.

The project is co-funded by European Regional Development Fund.
