Accelerating the implementation of innovation in Swedish healthcare
About the project
SIISH is a national collaboration aiming to shorten the time it takes for new life science innovations to be implemented within the Swedish healthcare system. The initiative brings together seven regions with university hospitals, innovation offices and incubators across Sweden. It is led by Västra Götalandsregionen, Gothia Forum and Innovationsplattformen (VGR).
Purpose
Through interdisciplinary collaboration, SIISH will identify barriers, highlight opportunities and propose concrete solutions to accelerate the adoption of innovation in healthcare. The long-term vision is to ensure a more sustainable, accessible and high-quality healthcare system for all.
Short description

Identify and analyse regional barriers and success factors to improve processes for innovation adoption

Develop new, integrated collaboration structures linking incubators, hospitals and innovation offices more effectively

Create a valuation model to support healthcare decision-makers in assessing whether to implement new innovations

Engage in dialogue with policymakers to ensure innovation becomes a strategic priority in future healthcare planning
